A Meeting was Held for the Acceptance of Scientific Journals into International Citation Indexes

The meeting organized by the Scientific Journals Coordination of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University was held on February 20, 2024, Monday in the Rectorate Senate Meeting Hall to ensure that the university's scientific journals are included in international citation indexes. The meeting, which started at 14:00, discussed in detail the compliance of the journals with international standards and the roadmap to be followed in this regard.

During the meeting, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy gave an opening speech emphasizing the university's goals in scientific publishing and the critical role that academic units will play in this process. Then, in a presentation conducted by the Scientific Journals Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çalık, participants were briefly informed about the journal selection criteria of international citation indexes such as WOS and Scopus.

In the meeting attended by the officials of the units publishing scientific journals (deans, directors of vocational schools, and other relevant administrators) and editors working in the journals, a consensus was reached on strategic steps to increase the international visibility of the university's scientific publications.

This important meeting is considered to support Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's goal of reaching international standards in academic publishing and to strengthen the university's scientific reputation.
