The Senate of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, chaired by Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, held an important meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in line with the university's goals to enhance its academic and international reputation. During the meeting, Scientific Journals Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çalık gave a speech emphasizing the impact of indexed scientific journals on the university's international visibility.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çalık stated that it is critically important to be included in prestigious indexes such as Scopus and Web of Science to ensure the university's reputation and the global recognition of its scientific work. In this context, he detailed a two-phase roadmap that should be followed in the application processes for indexes.
Formal and Procedural Criteria: It was stated that the first phase involves meeting the formal and procedural criteria.
Enhancing Scientific Qualities: He pointed out that the second phase involves content evaluation, emphasizing that the scientific quality of journals needs to be improved with long-term strategies.
He indicated that the studies conducted on our university journals would serve as a driving force for the university to achieve a stronger position in the international arena.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated in his speech that the inclusion of scientific journals in international indexes is among the university's strategic goals, expressing that all academic units should embrace this process.
